The Perfect Song

I know I'm writing about wedding planning and house building a lot, but this I my blog and I want to keep record of everything. I only have a couple of friends that even know about this blog. (If you do read, leave a comment soI know who's reading about my life.) I didn't start it for people to read. I started it to keep track I the things going on in my life. Sort of like my diary. If people read I'm fine with that too.

So back to the perfect song. I've been goggling and listening to songs for our wedding. I don't really want all the traditional songs you hear at every wedding. I've not made final decisions on most of them, but I came across the perfect song for my dad and I to dance to. I have never heard it before but everytime I listen to it I get tears in my eyes. The first couple of times I literally cried. The lyrics are perfect and so us. Anyways. The song is called I'll Walk with You by Edwin McCain. Here are the lyrics and a link to the song. If you stumble cross this here post and need a great father daughter song, here it is. I love the fact that it's not the usual father daughter dance song. Or it hasn't been at any weddings I've been to.

Floating the Caddo River

We floated the Caddo River with some friends Saturday. The scenery was beautiful and the water was flowing nicely. It took us a little over four hours and we only flipped the canoe once.  We came to some quick rapids and very low trees. While trying to duck under the trees, so our heads didn't get knocked off, we both leaned too far and there we went. Luckily everything was in dry bags and tied down. Well, almost everything. Kev was trying to put his phone back into the dry box but didn't get to it fast enough. His phone got wet, but seems to work ok after sitting in a bag of rice for a few days. I didn't have my shoes strapped tight so they slid off. A friend in front of us managed to grab one shoe and one paddle. We carefully walked the canoe across the rapid and dumped the water out. I will admit I was pissed off about my shoe. I didn't talk to Kev for awhile. I know it wasn't his fault, but I wanted to be mad at someone. He promised he would replace th
