Dirt, Logs, Trash Piles

Saturday we moved dirt and cleaned up around the new house. There was still a little patch of ridge that needed to be cut down. Not sure why we didn't do it in the beginning, I guess dad was trying to save the big tree on top of it. The drive way will go straight up and to Kev's shop instead of curving around. It will give us more room. Anyways... His dad volunteered to move the dirt if we rented the back hoe. I don't have a before picture, but here is the after. Basically before it was almost impossible to walk on this side of the house. Now we can, except at the very front. We still have lots of dirt to add there.  While Kev's dad did that, Kev and I cleaned up and stacked firewood. This is the organized wood pile. Before it was a mound of trash and scrap wood. I sorted through and burned the trash and unusable wood and organized the good pieces. You never know when you might need a small board. Poison Ivy Be Gone

The contraption we used to spray poison ivy Sunday. Come to find out we used enough killer for four acres on one or so. It better die!

The Proposal!

I can finally reveal my secret. A couple of Fridays ago Kev and I went to talk to the jeweler about making my ring. My grandmother had given me a diamond that could be used as a center stone and his mom gave him her wedding set (his parents are divorced) and another ring with sapphires. So we used six of the sapphires and my grandmother's diamond to make a ring. I think it's so special. His mothers' wedding set had several tiny diamonds that we will use to make my band. We are taking her center stone and three sapphires to make her a pendant. So. On to the proposal. I went to happy hour with a friend yesterday after school. Kev texted about 5:15 asking if I was still at On the Border that he was going to be a little late.
