The Weekend

Looks like my animals spent some time at my parent's house. Playing in the pool. This pool collects all the backwash from the  big pool. Looks like Indy got into something. She survived! Fun night out with the girls. I can't remember the occasion or celebration. Maybe just to be together.

Food Truck Festival and Crafts

We decided to go to the Main Street Food Truck festival Saturday. It was a beautiful afternoon to spend outside. We tried to get there early, but managed to arrive by 1:00. It was definitely crowded. After walking down Main Street for a little while we decided on a place to eat. The lines were so long you could barely tell where one started and the other one stopped. We ended up waiting in line for 30 minutes. I had to use the bathroom really bad and  stopped at the first bathrooms I saw. They were the fancy air conditioned bathroom trailers. I priced them for out wedding, but they were so expensive. They were charging $1 to use the facilities. They were nice inside. Sunday I decided to get crafty! I weathered the boards Kev and I put together the other night to make a welcome I've seen on Pinterest.  I searched Pinterest for how to make new boards look old and came across this method. You let a steel wool pad soak in vinegar over night. First you steep a few tea ...

Roller Coaster Racing and Riding

Yesterday we drove to Hot Springs to participate in the Roller Coaster 10K and Ride. I ran the 10K that morning and Kev and I both did the ride that afternoon.  The race course wasn't all that wonderful. You had to run the 5K twice...boring! Part of the course ran through the parking lot, which wasn't too bad and flat, except part of it was gravel. Gravel isn't ideal when you are use to running on the road. This was the first year for this race, so hopefully they will take suggestions to improve it next year. I finished the race in an hour and 18 minutes. I'm okay with my time. The course was hilly and had few water breaks. Kev stopped to get a snack on our way to my parents. He insisted I needed M&Ms. After showering at my parents, we stopped in Chick-Fil-A for a quick bite to eat. We had to be back at Magic Spring before 3:00 to get free parking and pick up his ride packet. You had to ride 16, 405 feet of roller coaster to equal a 5K. Here are t...

My Weekend

My parents were at the beach,so I stayed at their house over the weekend. It was nice to relax and hang by the pool all day Saturday. Katie was glad I  was  there.  Katie greeted me upon arrival. I guess my brother left her gate open.  She wasn't too happy to go back in later that night. I let her hang out with me all day.  In fact she ran upstairs when I tried to get her to go in the fence. I had to pick her up and carry her.  Sunday I met a friend at her parents house and we went for a boat ride. I sure wish Kev could have gone with me, but he needed to get things in order for our trip to the beach.

The Rest of the Week and Weekend

Thursday I met a friend of mine that was putting Lilly's name on her diaper covers. They turned out so cute!! After that I rushed to Hot Springs to visit. It was my Papaw's birthday and we were taking him to dinner. I'm so fortunate to still have him in  my life and hopefully he will be able to meet our child one day. Friday I didn't have summer school and planned to get up and get moving early. Well.... That didn't happen. I slept until 11:00!!! I don't ever sleep late much less until lunch. It was a stormy day so my pool plans were canceled. I did manage to visit with a friend and her daughter for a little while. I clean house some and did laundry. Saturday morning I was up early to run to the grocery store. I needed a few things for banana pudding, my usual Forth of July dessert. Hatfield wanted to ride and since it was early, not hot, and I only had a few things to get I let him. Lilly is content laying around doing nothing all day! They are so oppo...

V-Day

We had a very low key Valentine's Day. I cooked dinner and we watched a movie. The Menu: Cranberry and Feta Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette Pan Seared Filet Roasted Asparagus Pan-Fried Honey-Lemon Fingerling Potatoes Peanut Butter Brownies Everything was delicious! I ran to Home Depot this Saturday Morning to get paint. There's a chance for winter weather Monday. I will have a chance to paint some furniture. I didn't like all the brown on the wall, so I painted my shelves gray. It's the same gray I will use for the hutch. This was Saturday's forecast, spring like temperatures with a winter storm watch.

Our Weekend - Part Two

I woke up around 2:00am and Kev wasn't in bed. I heard water running, so I figured he was up getting a drink. Well... It kept running. I got up and Lily had jumped out of the dog shower and turned on the shower. Water was everywhere. I used every towel in the laundry room to mop it up. I didn't have my glasses on so of course I couldn't really see. I threw all the wet towels in the washer. What a mess. I kind of worried about this happening and bought a cap, but since it didn't seem to be a problem we never used it.   Everyone sleeping in. Our bed looks like this every Sunday morning. Perla brought another mouse to the door last night. Sunday afternoon we went tout to Kev's dads to help him cut up a tree that fell.    The dogs went too. They are always so excited to ride. They ran around and got extra muddy and wet.

Our Weekend - Part One

Saturday morning Kev got up early to work. I caught up on my TV shows and cleaning. The animals enjoyed some bed time. I looked up and found this precious baby at my door. I tried and tried to get her to go home but she just stared at me. I finally called the number on her collar and she belonged to the neighbor at the bottom of the hill. He sent someone to pick her up. I felt really bad for her. She's his hunting dog and stays penned up most of the time. I never see her, but hear her howl all the time. Saturday night a friend brought chains and tongs to move these 12 foot logs out of the way. They are ready to take to the mill. We just have to get the pine tree cut into sections. Then we burned another pile of brush and branches. The moon's reflection on the pond was beautiful. This picture does not do it justice.

Burr…It's cold Outside!

It was freezing cold this weekend. It seems like winter weather comes earlier and earlier every year. My babies helping me  with the fire or should I say getting in my way. It took a ear but Lilly has found a way out of the fence. The latch on the gate was temporary and she learned that if you hit it enough the screws will come loose and the gate will pop open. Kev's dad brought he welder over Sunday mooring and fixed it. She can still pop it open, so we have to put a hook through the latch. She has also dug a small hole. She can't quiet get her head under, but she sure does try. We may have to angle the bottom of the gate in the future. Kev's dad brought their puppy over to play. Roco is a Shepard/ Rottweiler mix and so freaking cute! That wraps our weekend up.
