Plumbing

I have pipes!! Dad's plumber was nice enough to make the drive up here two days to do my plumbing. He even got his plumbing inspector friend to come by and give me a permit. In case we do end up getting city water. Anyways. Monday they dug the trenches for the pipes. You can see where they measured off and marked each pipe on the wood forms.

While the plumber laid the pipes dad dug the footings for the foundation.
The footings
Tuesday they put in the copper piping and covered everything with a sand like dirt.

The next steps.
1. Level the dirt back off.
2. Have it treated for termites.
3. Cover it with visqueen and steel.
4. Pour the concrete.

It's suppose to rain tomorrow, so not sure when the next steps will begin. Until then...

Kev and I are building firewood holders. We went out there Sunday and built the first one. We used fence posts to hold the logs in and put a couple if 4x4s on the ground to keep the logs off the ground. Once we get a few more fence posts we can make another one or two. The firewood is never ending!!!

The Crud

I feel like crud! I've blown my nose so much this weekend that my face is raw and red. I can't imagine how I have this much snot in me. Anyways. I didn't get my Thursday 3 miler in or my 9 mile long run this weekend. How can I run when I can't freaking breathe?!? I've been taking medicine and using my Nettie Pot, so here's hoping I feel like running towards the end of this week. So glad this is a short work week and a field trip on Wednesday. I NEED a break!!

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...

Winter Weather Cancels Marathon

This weekend was supposed to be the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis. I signed up back in June and reserved my hotel. However, mother nature had other plans. We had a round of bad winter weather that left roads iced over for several days, so they ended up canceling the race. I checked and luckily my hotel will refund me my money, while others are not. Now, I was going to complete this race, but had I trained for it? No. I've been way too busy the past few months to take hours out of my dad and weekend to run. I had a house to finish and move into and a wedding to plan and attend. Anyways. I'm thinking about running the Nashville one in April. We will see. On another note the winter weather had us trapped on our hill for four days, before the temperatures reached 32 and the ice could melt some. Kev and I definitely enjoyed spending some quality time together and had a blast sledding.
