In This Crazy Life...

Thursday I met a friend of mine that was putting Lilly's name on her diaper covers. They turned out so cute!! After that I rushed to Hot Springs to visit. It was my Papaw's birthday and we were taking him to dinner. I'm so fortunate to still have him in  my life and hopefully he will be able to meet our child one day. Friday I didn't have summer school and planned to get up and get moving early. Well.... That didn't happen. I slept until 11:00!!! I don't ever sleep late much less until lunch. It was a stormy day so my pool plans were canceled. I did manage to visit with a friend and her daughter for a little while. I clean house some and did laundry. Saturday morning I was up early to run to the grocery store. I needed a few things for banana pudding, my usual Forth of July dessert. We loaded up this morning and headed to a friend's house for a pool party! This was the dog's first time riding in the new vehicle. Hatfield HAS to sit in a seat. Lilly was fine with laying in the back. Enjoy your 4th and stay safe!

We have moved in!!  We started moving the week after the wedding and had most everything in and settled the first of November. Is the house finished? No. But the inside is livable and we are living in it. My brother still needs to grout the master bath/shower, kitchen back splash, and dog shower. The cabinet man still needs to install cabinets pulls and my appliance garage. The glass guy has to cut glass for master shower and mirrors for bathrooms. Yes. I put my makeup on each morning using a makeup mirror. Our dresser has a mirror and there's a hanging mirror in the living room. I haven't seen my entire body in a month. Oh well, it will all get done. The outside still needs A LOT of work!!!!  It too will get done. It's actually been nice to be living without rent/house payment the last two months.  Everything is unpacked and we have enjoyed having a place large enough for friends to come hang out. We celebrated National Hot Dog day with chili cheese dogs and fried okra. I was browsing Rachel Ray's website the other day and found tons of hot dog recipes . She had one that was a F rito chili dog . I didn't have fritos, so this is what we had. What's your favorite way to eat a hot dog?

So... I'm not a Valentine's Day kinda girl. Don't get me wrong, I want to spend time with my love on that day but I can do without flowers (roses especially) and dinner. I'd rather Kev get me flowers just because and he does quiet often. I don't understand why every other holiday stores put merchandise on sale, but on Valentines Day they jack up the prices of flowers. The same roses you could have gotten last week for $50 are now $150. That's just ridiculous. As far a going out for dinner, I used to wait tables in college and I absolutely HATED Valentines Day. You have everyone who NEVERS goes out to eat in a restaurant. You have to wait hours to eat at a place that usually doesn't have a wait time at all or a very little one. All that being said we had a VERY low key Valentine's Day. After school I came straight home and started on his Valentines Day cake. A  Red Velvet Poke Cake .
