Our House is a Big Tent

There have always been a few seams on the ceiling drywall that have shown, there was always plans to have Eddie come out and fix them, but we had moved into a partially finished house, had a terrible winter, and dad just wanted to finish the house so we could close. Well... Skip forward another year and I finally had him come fix them. This is what our living area looked like for two days. Thursday they re-plastered the seams and sprayed the ceiling with texture. They placed part of the sectional back into the living room so we could watch TV. The dogs were very confused. They didn't have their normal places on the couch and there wasn't a rug either. In this picture Hatfield is sitting on the arm of the couch and in my lap.   Eddie came back Friday morning to repaint. I decided that since the furniture was out that I would wax the floors Saturday morning. We camped out in the bedroom watching Netflix that night. Hatfield is so strange that he would not come in the ...

Shopping and Decorating

I'm tryig to get each room furnished and decorated slowly but surely. I have been focusing on the guest bedroom. I saw this pillow in Pier One the other day. I want to use these colors in that room. I've got a red duvet cover on that bed. I her got shams to go with it, but I found some at Bed, Bath, and Beyond that match perfectly. I liked this pillow too. I want to use the teal and orange as accent colors. The antique cabinet Kev's dad gave us is in there. I still need a headboard for the bed and at least one side table and lamp. I want to make a headboard out of pallets. I have the pallets. I just have to tear the boards off. I really like this lamp. They had this side table at Ross too. I kind of like have a table that is metal so there isn't so much wood in there. It was cheap, so I may go back and get it this week. This picture was at Pier One. I really like it. I think maybe I could paint it. The office has a purple and gray floral comforter on it t...

Weekend Cuddles

Lilly and Hatfield love cuddling on the weekends. They always want outside really early, so by 7ish they are usually ready to home back in and get in the bed with us. All I can say is I can't wait to move and get a king sized bed. Right now I have 170 pounds of dog on top of me!! We've had a busy busy weekend and more to do today. Guess it's time to get moving.

I'm Not Going!

Hatfield is so strange. I know I've said this before, but he is. Sometimes he will NOT go outside in the morning before I leave for work. I try everything! Food doesn't even work. I feel bad leaving him because it will be at least eight hours before I get back home and its already been all night since he's been outside. Anyways, today was one of those mornings. In fact he's not gone out any morning this week. Here he is this morning laying on the couch. When I asked "wanna go outside?" He just rolled over. Such a weirdo!!

A Sunday Swim

Sunday afternoon we decided to take a drive. When it was time for the dogs to get in their pen, Hatfield refused. He just stood at the car door. He wanted to go to. So we loaded them up and headed out. Our drive took us to a small lake about 20 minutes always. I didn't even know it existed. Anyways, we let the dogs swim. They loved it! Watch Lilly leap like a dolphin. Hilarious! Or at least it is to us.

Meet Hatfield

I've had Hatfield for over a year and still haven't figured out all his quirks. I "rescued" him from a friend of a friend of a friend. He was previously owned by a Texan that is a cop. Anyways, he (the cop) was assigned a K9 and troubled brewed between the two dogs. One day something happened and the German Shepard attacked Hatfield. (You can still see the scar from the bite.) My dog Greta had run off a few months before during a snow storm. I searched and searched for months and never found her. I was really missing a companion, so I said Jake (Hatfield's previous name) could come live with me. I could tell right off that he was loving. He would crawl up on my lap to rest. He doesn't know he weighs 88 pounds. He thinks he's a lap dog. The longer I had him I realized he had some issues. Issue #1 he hates being brushed. He tucks his tail under and eventually snapped at me. Issue #2 he will not get in the bathtub! He won't even get near it now...

Doggie Adventures

So the other night Kev had a fabulous idea and took the dogs with him to pick up a pizza. There is really NOT enough room for both of them unless one gets in the floorboard and they rarely cooperate. Anyways, you can see in the first picture that Lilly is in the floorboard. Hatfield is standing, not sitting, in the seat. Well... Lilly wasn't having that so she slides underneath him. Poor Kev, no telling what position they finally settled into.
