Birthday Lake Weekend

Before all of the Covid-19 started, our name was on the lake house calendar. We decided to still go. Since I have been working from home, I left Thursday afternoon. I had cooked my brother dinner and baked him a loaf of bread. I also stopped by my parent's house to give them their loaf of bread and I got a delicious strawberry cake for my birthday. I my have eaten almost the whole thing by myself. Don't judge. It was breakfast, lunch and dinner for a few days.

Indy is not use to me sitting in a recliner. She did not like the fact that she could not sit beside me. After lots of pacing she decide there was room enough fro both of us.

I worked some Friday morning. I had three 504 conferences via Zoom and a staff meeting and then went for a walk. It's one hill after another so no running. this is the view I had from the top of one of the hills I climbed.

Cody arrived Friday evening. We grilled some sausages and just hung out on the patio. He also brought me flowers that were deliver after I left. The dogs love me!
Saturday was beautiful! I sunbathed and read the book The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. It was so good. I could hardly put it down. Cody caught up on his sleep. This dog loves to sunbathe too.
We took a late afternoon boat ride. They absolutely love boat rides. Their whole demeanor changes when they get on the boat. If a dog could looked relaxed that is them.
Baby ducklings. The goose was protecting them.
Can you say spoiled. Hatfield had gone inside to lay on the couch, but that was too far away from her humans. We pulled up a chair and covered her up. She slayed there the whole time we talked and listened to music.
Cody left Sunday morning and I decided to stay until Monday. I wanted to finish my book and there were no distractions at the lake house. We decide Indy needed some sunglasses. We received them Tuesday when I got home. She is getting use to them and wears them for longer periods time.
 She and her Co-Dee.

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.

And a Roof

They finished the roof up today! Back of the house. Front of the house. They use these to hold the plywood together.

Floating the Caddo River

We floated the Caddo River with some friends Saturday. The scenery was beautiful and the water was flowing nicely. It took us a little over four hours and we only flipped the canoe once.  We came to some quick rapids and very low trees. While trying to duck under the trees, so our heads didn't get knocked off, we both leaned too far and there we went. Luckily everything was in dry bags and tied down. Well, almost everything. Kev was trying to put his phone back into the dry box but didn't get to it fast enough. His phone got wet, but seems to work ok after sitting in a bag of rice for a few days. I didn't have my shoes strapped tight so they slid off. A friend in front of us managed to grab one shoe and one paddle. We carefully walked the canoe across the rapid and dumped the water out. I will admit I was pissed off about my shoe. I didn't talk to Kev for awhile. I know it wasn't his fault, but I wanted to be mad at someone. He promised he would replace th
