Beach Bums

We woke up before dark Thursday to head to the beach for a few days. We were on the road by 6:00. I wanted earlier but things happen. Anyways I drove so Kev could sleep. He's been working very long, hot days.
We arrived just in time for check-in. Kev has been using my Hilton Honors AMEX to purchase material and racked up enough points the last couple of months for a two night stay. We paid for One night. Since a gulfview room was $410 for one night and 240,000 points for the other two nights, we decided to go with inland room. We opened our door to a gulfview room. Just a little happy for us!

I woke up at sunrise and set up our spot on the beach. I love the beach in the morning!!  I see a beach nap in the future for this afternoon....

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...

A Sunday Swim

Sunday afternoon we decided to take a drive. When it was time for the dogs to get in their pen, Hatfield refused. He just stood at the car door. He wanted to go to. So we loaded them up and headed out. Our drive took us to a small lake about 20 minutes always. I didn't even know it existed. Anyways, we let the dogs swim. They loved it! Watch Lilly leap like a dolphin. Hilarious! Or at least it is to us.
