It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

I've been itching to put up my Christmas Trees for over a week. Kev thinks I should always wait until after Thanksgiving  and I usually do. However, now that I have three trees to put up and decorate and a much larger to space, I need more than a weekend to get everything done. Also, Thanksgiving is the last weekend of the month and that would only leave me four weeks to enjoy them.

When we were cleaning out my grandmother's attic, I took lots of her ornaments. There was also an extra tree that no one wanted. Since it already had pine cones on it, I used in on the back porch. I spent Sunday collecting pine and pine cones from the yard and making these ornaments.
I bought burlap ribbon and used raffia I already had. Many years ago a teacher friend of mine brought me three huge pine cones from the California Giant Aspen trees. I used those for the topper. I still need a larger piece of burlap for the tree skirt. I love the fact that I can see it through the window while I am watching TV.
Our living room tree. It's basically the same as last year.

This tree is also my grandmother's. She gave it to me back in 1999. it's held together with duct tape and garland to cover it, but for years it was all I had, so I made it work. Now I keep it for sentimental reasons. All the the angels and dolls faces were hers. The tree skirt was hers as well. the angel on top was my aunts first angel,. She gave it to me years ago and I have used it off and on throughout the years. I thought I was perfect for the theme of this tree.

Glitter was everywhere and still is in places. I have to go to my grandmother's this weekend to get the other decorations. Hopefully I can get the mantle and rest of the house finished this week.

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.

And a Roof

They finished the roof up today! Back of the house. Front of the house. They use these to hold the plywood together.

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...
