We're Moved In!!

We have moved in!!  We started moving the week after the wedding and had most everything in and settled the first of November. Is the house finished? No. But the inside is livable and we are living in it. My brother still needs to grout the master bath/shower, kitchen back splash, and dog shower. The cabinet man still needs to install cabinets pulls and my appliance garage. The glass guy has to cut glass for master shower and mirrors for bathrooms. Yes. I put my makeup on each morning using a makeup mirror. Our dresser has a mirror and there's a hanging mirror in the living room. I haven't seen my entire body in a month. Oh well, it will all get done.

The outside still needs A LOT of work!!!!  It too will get done. It's actually been nice to be living without rent/house payment the last two months.

Everything is unpacked and we have enjoyed having a place large enough for friends to come hang out. We had a cookout for Kev's birthday this weekend and getting ready to have his family over for Thanksgiving Friday.

I've not taken many pictures because everything isn't done but will post the finished product when I can. Lord knows I can't say when. Every time I'm told a day, it gets changed. They are coming this week and they don't. I can't get mad. My dad needs to do jobs that supply him with a pay check.  I'm content just being able to live there. I just remind myself how fornunate I am to be able to build my own house. It has definitely been a family ordeal, a stressful one at times, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

The Crud

I feel like crud! I've blown my nose so much this weekend that my face is raw and red. I can't imagine how I have this much snot in me. Anyways. I didn't get my Thursday 3 miler in or my 9 mile long run this weekend. How can I run when I can't freaking breathe?!? I've been taking medicine and using my Nettie Pot, so here's hoping I feel like running towards the end of this week. So glad this is a short work week and a field trip on Wednesday. I NEED a break!!

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...

Winter Weather Cancels Marathon

This weekend was supposed to be the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis. I signed up back in June and reserved my hotel. However, mother nature had other plans. We had a round of bad winter weather that left roads iced over for several days, so they ended up canceling the race. I checked and luckily my hotel will refund me my money, while others are not. Now, I was going to complete this race, but had I trained for it? No. I've been way too busy the past few months to take hours out of my dad and weekend to run. I had a house to finish and move into and a wedding to plan and attend. Anyways. I'm thinking about running the Nashville one in April. We will see. On another note the winter weather had us trapped on our hill for four days, before the temperatures reached 32 and the ice could melt some. Kev and I definitely enjoyed spending some quality time together and had a blast sledding.
