Wedding Weekend

I took off Thursday and Friday of last week to do wedding stuff. Thursday I picked up our rings, the guy's ties, and ran a few other errands before I headed to Hot Springs. I drove straight to the lake house and unloaded the massive amounts of stuff in my car and went out to the barn. My aunt took off a few days to work on the wedding.

We hung tons of glass jar lanterns in the big tree we were getting married under.

One of the seating areas. I bough the cutest pillows that are deep purple and ruffled for the benches.

Dad and Spencer built a dance floor.
And we they hung crystal chandeliers in the barn and the tent.
I drove back home Thursday night because I still had to pack my things. Friday morning consisted of setting up tables and chairs and getting my nails done.
I called one of the best day spas in hot springs and made an appointment. She did an AWFUL job!! I cried when I got in the car. I admit, they were in terrible shape. Peeling. Some short, some longer. I told her not to file them all down to make them the same but just shape each one up. Well she filed every. one. of. my. nails. to. the. nub! And she got shellac all over my cuticles.

Long story short, I went back the next morning and the experienced lady fixed them.

Hanging out in the hammock Friday night.

Saturday morning I was up early getting my nails fixed. Around noon I left to get my hair done and it had started raining!!!! Not hard, but a steady sprinkle. It never cleared up. Good thing we had a cabin there to get ready in. The front porch was huge and covered so we did most of out pictures there. in the couple of hours before the ceremony, the rain had let up. By ceremony time it was a light mist. My aunt called to ask what I wanted to do. Walk the aisle or get under the tent? She said my guests didn't care either way, so I walked the aisle.
Bringing my dress into the cabin.

Rewriting my vows.
Even though it rained lightly most of the night, I had a blast at my wedding. I feel that most people left a little earlier with the rain than they would have if it was clear. I enjoyed dancing with my friends and mingling with my guests. The food was amazing!

The Crud

I feel like crud! I've blown my nose so much this weekend that my face is raw and red. I can't imagine how I have this much snot in me. Anyways. I didn't get my Thursday 3 miler in or my 9 mile long run this weekend. How can I run when I can't freaking breathe?!? I've been taking medicine and using my Nettie Pot, so here's hoping I feel like running towards the end of this week. So glad this is a short work week and a field trip on Wednesday. I NEED a break!!

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...

Winter Weather Cancels Marathon

This weekend was supposed to be the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis. I signed up back in June and reserved my hotel. However, mother nature had other plans. We had a round of bad winter weather that left roads iced over for several days, so they ended up canceling the race. I checked and luckily my hotel will refund me my money, while others are not. Now, I was going to complete this race, but had I trained for it? No. I've been way too busy the past few months to take hours out of my dad and weekend to run. I had a house to finish and move into and a wedding to plan and attend. Anyways. I'm thinking about running the Nashville one in April. We will see. On another note the winter weather had us trapped on our hill for four days, before the temperatures reached 32 and the ice could melt some. Kev and I definitely enjoyed spending some quality time together and had a blast sledding.
