Siding

They have gotten most of the siding on. We had a hold up. I realized the vinyl shake he was thinking about putting up there was terrible looking and looked really cheap. So we started looking at other options. The fiber cement shakes were about $600 a square and dad said that was way too much. I found some vinyl shake that was made thicker and looked exactly like the fiber cement. Well I guess dad wasn't happy with that price either. He said something about just putting real cedar shakes up there, but I'm not sure what he has decided on. They still have to put the stone one the front porch and on the sides of the garage.

He has already put my faux beams in place to separate the siding from the rock along the porch.
The back is all siding.
The side of the house.
The other side.

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.

And a Roof

They finished the roof up today! Back of the house. Front of the house. They use these to hold the plywood together.

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...
