House Plans

For weeks I searched high and low for the perfect house and floor plan. Well it doesn't exist! I would find outsides I loved, but they would have the worst layout or they would be gagillion square feet. I definitely want space. I've lived in a 960 square foot house for eight years. But I don't need tons of space and I sure don't want that much space to clean. I will never have anyone one clean my house. I love cleaning and I don't trust anyone to clean like me. Anyways, after weeks of searching I found a floor plan that I mostly liked and an outside that would match it. Here is my custom version of the layout I liked. I moved a couple of doors, added a wall, and changed the layout of the kitchen and master bath. It works and it's 1,600 square feet. Perfect! The original layout included an open dining area. I added a wall and sliding barn door to make it my workout room. I will be so happy to have the treadmill, ballet barre and weights all in the same place and out if the way.

I still haven't closed! The weather after Christmas set us back a few days. Then it took them a freaking long time to get the survey completed. I don't know what took so freaking long. But it should be this week. Dad will have to come up here next week and decide where the house is going to sit and on what kind of foundation. I'm thinking I'll need a split level because of the slope, but maybe not. I'm not the expert. Hopefully we can start cutting trees down soon. I'm so ready to get this show in the road. I've got a one year plan, that I'm not sharing, and I want to be moved in before school starts.

The Crud

I feel like crud! I've blown my nose so much this weekend that my face is raw and red. I can't imagine how I have this much snot in me. Anyways. I didn't get my Thursday 3 miler in or my 9 mile long run this weekend. How can I run when I can't freaking breathe?!? I've been taking medicine and using my Nettie Pot, so here's hoping I feel like running towards the end of this week. So glad this is a short work week and a field trip on Wednesday. I NEED a break!!

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...

Winter Weather Cancels Marathon

This weekend was supposed to be the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis. I signed up back in June and reserved my hotel. However, mother nature had other plans. We had a round of bad winter weather that left roads iced over for several days, so they ended up canceling the race. I checked and luckily my hotel will refund me my money, while others are not. Now, I was going to complete this race, but had I trained for it? No. I've been way too busy the past few months to take hours out of my dad and weekend to run. I had a house to finish and move into and a wedding to plan and attend. Anyways. I'm thinking about running the Nashville one in April. We will see. On another note the winter weather had us trapped on our hill for four days, before the temperatures reached 32 and the ice could melt some. Kev and I definitely enjoyed spending some quality time together and had a blast sledding.
