The Best Views

Kev always sends me pictures of Little Rock from the top of his 30 foot ladder. Here is the last couple he has sent. He gets the most amazing views! The first one is Pinnacle Mountain. The last one is overlooking the Arkansas River.

Puppy Love

Loving on my babies! And yes, they're Instagramed. Kev is addicted to it.

Shooting Grades And Marking House Pad

Yesterday dad came up here to shoot some grades. If you aren't sure what this means, he used this little instrument to tell him how much he needs to cut the ridge down to make a level house pad. We also put stakes in the ground to show the corners of the house and where it will sit on the two acres. I have to meet the excavator out there this week and get a quote of leveling it off. Next weekend we will get the chainsaw and cut down the big trees! Beware! This blog will probably become my house building diary.

Polar Bear 5K

Got up this morning and headed to Pine Bluff to run a 5K for Special Olympics. My friend who talked me into running my first half marathon, was putting on this race. My highly reliable weather channel app said it would be partly cloudy and 45 at race time. Well the app isn't so reliable. It was cloudy, damp, and freezing! Of course once I was a mile in I warmed up nicely. For some reason I ran faster than my usual pace and finished in 32 minutes. I am proud to say that I won second place in my age group! They all stayed and did the Polar Bear Plunge. I'm not that crazy! Anyways I had I get back and meet my dad at my land. More on that later...

Pull Apart Pizza Bread

I've been obsessed with making homemade pizzas and finding other things to do with refrigerated pizza dough. I came across this Pull Apart Pizza Bread recipe on Pinterest. Last night I decided to make it. The original recipe just calls for marinara, cheese, and pepperoni. I had mushrooms onions, and Italian deer sausage I wanted to use. I love the fact that deer meat is so lean. Notice there isn't any grease in the pan. That means it's way healthier than pork sausage. I browned the sausage and added onions, peppers, and mushrooms and cooked until they were soft. Then I floured my cutting board and laid out the pizza dough. I spread marinara sauce on first. I just used some out of a jar (I usually make my own). Anyways... Top that with the sausage mixture, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese. You then cut it into small pieces and stack them on top of each other. I did about three pieces at a time. This got extremely messy. Stack them sideways in a bread dish

Queen Perla

Perla thinks she is the queen of the house. She is a very vocal kitty and lets you know when she wants something. She does what she wants when she wants. One day I called and called her thinking she was outside. She never came. Fifteen minutes later she appeared, she had been laying in the back room. She heard me and didn't come becasue she didn't want to. Anyways here are some pictures of her over the last couple of weeks. Sitting on the stairs leading to the attic. I left them down a couple of days while I was putting up Christmas. She would climb up and hang out and play in the attic. She wanted attention so she climbed into my lap. Hanging out in Lilly's kennel. This morning she opened the cabinet door in the bathroom and crawled inside to explore. Anytime I leave a cabinet door open she checks it out. the picture on the right is a cabinet in the laundry room. She loves shiny things! Many times I take my ring off and set it on the coffee ta

Couch Hog

I love this dog! She is spoiled rotten! When Kev was working in Oklahoma, Lilly always sat by me in the couch. Now that he's back, she is pissed when she can't get up here. Sometimes she just jumps over and and plops down right in-between us. She sits around an waits for him to get up. So tonight while he is a a visitation, Lilly is laid out beside me.

House Plans

For weeks I searched high and low for the perfect house and floor plan. Well it doesn't exist! I would find outsides I loved, but they would have the worst layout or they would be gagillion square feet. I definitely want space. I've lived in a 960 square foot house for eight years. But I don't need tons of space and I sure don't want that much space to clean. I will never have anyone one clean my house. I love cleaning and I don't trust anyone to clean like me. Anyways, after weeks of searching I found a floor plan that I mostly liked and an outside that would match it. Here is my custom version of the layout I liked. I moved a couple of doors, added a wall, and changed the layout of the kitchen and master bath. It works and it's 1,600 square feet. Perfect! The original layout included an open dining area. I added a wall and sliding barn door to make it my workout room. I will be so happy to have the treadmill, ballet barre and weights all in the same place a

Winter Wonderland

I Finally got a new internet modem! The power outage killed mine. Even though the winter storm of 2012 left me without power for almost a week, it was beautiful to look at.  Kev and I woke up early the morning after Christmas and went outside to enjoy the snow.  The dogs absolutely loved playing in it!
