First Week!

Well... It seems that another week has come and gone without me ranting or documenting our lives. School started this week and my brain is fried!!! I've probably worked 16 hours EVERYDAY this week! Getting to school at 6:30, leaving after 5:00, coming home and then working on lesson plans while I watch TV and drink until bedtime. My drink of choice this week was dirty martinis (made with Ciroc).
Anyways...What I am trying to get to is that after all that I have just not had the energy or brain power to blog. Maybe I will get better. Nothing really interesting is happening anyways since I am working all day and night.
I have a really sweet class this year and there are only 20 kids. I'm sure 5 more kiddos will trickle in later. I do know that I am ready to find my way out of the classroom and use my reading degree and certifications. Best case scenario is that my principal would add another literacy coach position for me. Our school has about 600 students, surely we're big enough to have a second coach. I LOVE the people I work with and my principal! I don't really want to leave. I've experienced a bad school before and don't want to do that again.
Funniest thing a kid said this week... I have a bathroom in my classroom and one of my boys had been in there about 15 minutes. So... I knocked on the door and asked him to hurry. His reply was "I ate beans for lunch". My class cracked up.
Plans for this weekend. Not doing school work and laying by the pool! Have a great weekend!

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.

And a Roof

They finished the roof up today! Back of the house. Front of the house. They use these to hold the plywood together.

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...
