Future Home

I've been totally obsessed with house plans. I have finally decided to leave the comfort of my rent house and get my own house. I absolutely love my rent house and landlords. They have been so good to me and taken care of whatever I have needed in the last 8 years. I kind of get sad about leaving my neighbors. I like most of them and my aunt and uncle live at the end of the road.

Anyways. The land have found is absolutely perfect! It is on the bottom part of a ridge I have been telling Kev for the last year that I want to live on. There's a back road we drive down frequently to get to West Little Rock. It crosses over a ridge that has beautiful views. Well, this road is parallel to that road. It's at the very end of the street on top of a hill and backs up to a gated community's lake (Lake Florence according to Google Maps). So I will look out my kitchen window everyday and see a wooded area with a pond. No neighbors, well the houses on the other side of the pond in the gated community, but like I said they are on the other side of the lake. From my front door, I will have a view of a beautiful farm that has rolling hills and is well manicured. I want to live here so bad!! I'm going to the bank next week to apply for a loan and make an offer. If its meant to be it will happen.

So. I've been obsessed with finding the perfect house plan (Kev likes all the ones I've shown him and we both want cedar and stone on the exterior). I have not found one but dad and I can take what I like from different ones and design a one-of-a-kind house just for me. Everything I want! I have been waiting for this day since I was a little girl. When I was a kid, we would frequently visit his job sites (He owns his own construction business) and look at the homes. I would always tell him what he needed to remember for my house one day. That day has finally come!!

You can barely see the lake right now, but I would clear the underbrush along the fence line.

View from the driveway. There's an easement for the neighbor's driveway to run along the fence line/property line.

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.

And a Roof

They finished the roof up today! Back of the house. Front of the house. They use these to hold the plywood together.

Floating the Caddo River

We floated the Caddo River with some friends Saturday. The scenery was beautiful and the water was flowing nicely. It took us a little over four hours and we only flipped the canoe once.  We came to some quick rapids and very low trees. While trying to duck under the trees, so our heads didn't get knocked off, we both leaned too far and there we went. Luckily everything was in dry bags and tied down. Well, almost everything. Kev was trying to put his phone back into the dry box but didn't get to it fast enough. His phone got wet, but seems to work ok after sitting in a bag of rice for a few days. I didn't have my shoes strapped tight so they slid off. A friend in front of us managed to grab one shoe and one paddle. We carefully walked the canoe across the rapid and dumped the water out. I will admit I was pissed off about my shoe. I didn't talk to Kev for awhile. I know it wasn't his fault, but I wanted to be mad at someone. He promised he would replace th
