Winter Weather Cancels Marathon

This weekend was supposed to be the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis. I signed up back in June and reserved my hotel. However, mother nature had other plans. We had a round of bad winter weather that left roads iced over for several days, so they ended up canceling the race. I checked and luckily my hotel will refund me my money, while others are not. Now, I was going to complete this race, but had I trained for it? No. I've been way too busy the past few months to take hours out of my dad and weekend to run. I had a house to finish and move into and a wedding to plan and attend. Anyways. I'm thinking about running the Nashville one in April. We will see.

On another note the winter weather had us trapped on our hill for four days, before the temperatures reached 32 and the ice could melt some. Kev and I definitely enjoyed spending some quality time together and had a blast sledding.

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.

And a Roof

They finished the roof up today! Back of the house. Front of the house. They use these to hold the plywood together.

Our Kitchen

My favorite room in the whole house!! We still need to put the cabinet pulls on the cabinets. I have them picked out, I think dad has ordered them. We also still have to trim out the appliance garage, microwave, and fridge. The trim pieces are in the garage. I absolutely love being able to cook while watching TV and the open space for entertaining.  There is so much storage! I can finally buy in bulk or buy two of something when it is on sale. I literally had one cabinet for food storage in the rent house. Everything was neatly crammed in there. Now I can actually get something without taking everything out.
