Thanksgiving and Gumbo

In this crazy time we are living in (Covid-19 pandemic of 2020), I have found my old blog. I have not post in over 4 years, but found some drafts I'm going to publish. I may or may not remember all the details of the pictures, but I'll do my best. I just want these out there as some documentation of my life in 2016. I plan on using this time at home to start documenting my life again. Boy how things have changed since 2016! So I'll start with this most from November 2015...

Eery full moon sky.

I guess I skinned my leg somehow. Not sure! (Where is my "I don't know" emoji?)

Turkey Trot 10K. That's it! This is where I skinned my knee. I tripped and fell while trail running. I was used to running on the pavement.

More Turkey Trot pictures. You bring canned food donations. I have never been able to run with my fiends because I stay in Hot spring the night before Thanksgiving. This particular year I forgot to pack my pants (again where are my emojis? Insert face palm emoji), so I had to go home after cooking all day Wednesday.

Duck Gumbo 2015. We lost, but had lots of fun!

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...

Pool Time!

We spent the weekend at our friends' pool. We took the dogs with us Sunday so they could have a play date. M and B have to pit bulls that are so sweet. Nahla, the youngest one, loves to play! They were also puppy sitting the cutest beagle ever!  They absolutely love going places! They were waiting in the car while I was loading our things.  I've never been able to get Hatfield in the pool, but Lilly loves it. She started off just sitting on the steps and one day she just jumped in. So, now she jumps in every now and then to cool off. Kev mixed up refreshing peach mojitos (I guess I've had major peach craving lately) this weekend. I'd share the recipe but that's his job. I never really know what all goes into what I'm drinking. I just know it's delicious!

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.
