Highlights from the Week

I have helped our literacy department do inventory all week. That has left little time to do much around the house. Thursday I had our little teacher group from school over for brunch and mimosas. We had a great time visiting. We have tried to get everyone together a few times over the summer.

Lilly was assuming her usual position on the couch when I noticed three of her bottom front teeth are gone. I have no idea what happened. She didn't seem to be in pain and her gums didn't get infected, so I guess all is well.
Sunset Friday night was gorgeous! I can't wait until we build Kev's shop and have a deck on the back overlooking the pasture. It's always a pretty view.

My new boots I ordered!!They are back ordered until September, but  I can't wait to get them!!
Sunday I did a little freezer cooking. Hamburger meat was on sale, so I took advantage. I also made a batch of homemade cream of mushroom soup. I'm in love with this stuff and it is so easy to whip up.

Veggie stock made with all the leftover veggie scraps I have been saving.
I used the basil from our garden to make pesto. I have never made it before and it is wonderful. I froze it in an ice cube tray for easy use later.
That about sums up our week. Of course Kev worked everyday. I ready for the hail storm damage to be over with so I can see my husband again, but I am liking the money it is bring in.

Football Merchandise

It's football season and Walmart has all their Razorback merchandise out. I was browsing the aisle the other day and saw these. I immediately thought whiskey! A great way to sneak liquor into the stadium. Of course the back says intended for water only. Yeah right! No one looks at this and says water.

Ballyseede Castle

Tralle was a good stopping point from Dingle to Doolin. When looking for places to stay I came across the Ballyseede Castle Hotel. It was a little pricey, but since we had such great deals on all of the other B&Bs, I splurged. It's one of the best known Castle Hotels in Ireland, has a history dating back to the 1590’s and sits on 30 acres of native woodlands. The castle has 23 en-suite bedrooms and 3 beautiful private rooms complimented by enchanting formal gardens. To read about the history of the castle click here. We stayed in the Coghill room.   We had a nice view of the gardens. Here are other pictures from inside the castle. We had to have our picture made with the knights.   We Googled and found a restaurant in town that was supposed to be delicious. It was nestled on the shore overlooking the bay. We arrived about 5:30 and watched the sunset. The food was fabulous, however the service was not. ...

A Sunday Swim

Sunday afternoon we decided to take a drive. When it was time for the dogs to get in their pen, Hatfield refused. He just stood at the car door. He wanted to go to. So we loaded them up and headed out. Our drive took us to a small lake about 20 minutes always. I didn't even know it existed. Anyways, we let the dogs swim. They loved it! Watch Lilly leap like a dolphin. Hilarious! Or at least it is to us.
